About this course

A self-paced course that teaches employees to speak up well in meetings: prepare a point for the right agenda item, choose the moment to speak, disagree with respect and follow up afterward, in the room, on video and on the phone.

Who it is for

  • Employees in any role and industry who have ideas or concerns but find it hard to raise them in meetings, huddles and video calls.

  • Organizations that want optional, self-paced development courses in their learning system for employees to take on their own.

  • HR and training teams and business owners building an elective library without facilitators.

The problem it solves

Many decisions are made in meetings without the facts the quieter people in the room could have added. Points are saved for the end, concerns come out only after the meeting, and people on video or phone cannot find a way in. This course gives employees a four-step model for the meeting skills that matter: preparing a point for a specific agenda item, entering at the right moment with a clear signal, expressing a different view with respect, and following up on decisions and points they did not get to make.

What is inside

E-learning (SCORM 1.2), about 18 minutes, 18 screens, text-only (no sound needed)

  • A starting self-check on eight everyday meeting habits, private to the learner

  • The Meeting Steps: four steps, taught with examples from a property management office, a home care agency, an eye care practice and other workplaces

  • Flip cards, reveal-the-answer examples and meeting-type tabs (in the room, on video, on the phone, in the meeting chat) on the teaching screens

  • Three practice scenarios (the right moment in the room, a different view on video, and speaking up by phone and then following up) with feedback on every choice

  • A short quick check (not graded), a "try it this week" plan builder and a final self-check that compares before and now

  • A one-page pocket card download and a certificate of completion

Personal workbook (with the $199 option)

  • Printable PDF (13 pages) and editable Word file (14 pages)

  • Self-checks, the model card, a point planner, a signal planner, a different view planner, a follow-up log, practice reflections, meeting planners, a 30-day plan and a progress tracker

How it works in your LMS

  1. Upload the SCORM 1.2 zip as an optional course.

  2. Employees take it at their own pace; it remembers where they stopped.

  3. The course reports completed when the learner reaches the certificate. There is no pass mark. If the learner takes the quick check, the score is reported for information only.

  4. Self-check answers and plans stay on the learner's device and are not sent to the LMS.

Formats and file types

  • SCORM 1.2 zip (0.9 MB), runs offline with packaged fonts, works on desktop and phone.

  • Workbook: PDF (13 pages, US Letter) and Word (.docx, 14 pages).

Frequently asked questions

Is this required training?

No. It is designed as an elective course that employees choose and complete on their own.

Does it cover video and phone meetings?

Yes. Every step includes what to do in the room, on video and on the phone, and one practice scenario takes place on a phone call.

Does it need sound?

No. The course is text-only, with illustrations and interactions on the teaching screens.

Can a manager see an employee's self-check answers?

No. They stay in the course on the learner's device. The LMS receives completion and, if taken, the quick check score.
