About this kit
A ready-to-run 2-hour session that teaches leaders to coach people who want to grow: finding the direction, setting development goals, planning stretch assignments that are safe, and following up so the growth actually happens.
Who it is for
Small-business owners with no career ladder or training budget who still want good people to see a future with them.
Managers and supervisors whose best employees keep asking "What's next for me?"
Shift, crew and team leads who help newer staff build skills on the job.
HR and L&D professionals who need a practical development session that connects reviews to real growth.
The problem it solves
Growth conversations tend to go one of two ways: a leader promises something they cannot give, or a good talk at review time is never followed up. People who want to grow either leave or stop asking. This kit gives leaders four simple tools that fit inside the KA coaching model, PULL: three directions of growth (deeper, wider or up), a development goal format (Able to, Proof, By), four sizing questions for stretch assignments, and a progress scale (Watch, Try, Own, Teach), plus guided practice on all four kinds of growth conversation.
What is inside
Builds on D01 Coaching Basics and the KA coaching model, PULL: Pick the focus, Uncover what's happening, Let them find the options, Leave with a next step.

How to use it
1. Read the facilitator guide and complete the workbook yourself, including a development goal of your own.
2. Print the workbook and handouts, and cut the scenario cards.
3. Run the 2-hour session in person or online. Participants who have not done D01 can catch up with the D01 job aid; the guide shows how.
4. Use the 60-day follow-through plan so each participant has a growth conversation, a development goal and two follow-ups.

Frequently asked questions
Do participants need to take D01 first?
It is recommended. The guide includes a 15-minute PULL catch-up for anyone who has not, and the D01 job aid is enough to follow along.
What if we have no promotions to offer?
That is what the kit is built for. Deeper and wider growth, stretch assignments and teaching others are always available, and the guide shows how to be honest about openings.
Does it use a well-known goal-setting acronym or model?
No. The development goal format (Able to, Proof, By) and every other tool in the kit are original KA Company material.
