About this course

A self-paced course that turns a setback at work into four practical steps: pause before you react, assess what happened, repair what you can and take one lesson forward.

Who it is for

  • Employees in any role and industry who have made a mistake, received a complaint, been passed over or seen a plan fall through, and want a clear way to handle it.

  • Organizations that want optional, self-paced, non-clinical development courses in their learning system for employees to take on their own.

  • HR and training teams and business owners building an elective library without facilitators.

The problem it solves

When something goes wrong at work, the first reaction is often the least useful one: a defensive reply, a mistake kept quiet, or a lesson that amounts to "try harder". This course gives employees four practical steps for any setback, from a missed deadline to a decision that went against them, so it ends with a fix and one specific change. It covers work habits only and is not medical or mental health advice.

What is inside

E-learning (SCORM 1.2), about 20 minutes, 18 screens, text-only (no sound needed)

  • A starting self-check on eight everyday habits for handling setbacks, private to the learner

  • The Setback Reset™: four steps, taught with examples from an event rental company, a dental lab, a catering company and a building contractor

  • Flip cards, reveal-the-answer examples and channel tabs on the teaching screens

  • Three practice scenarios (an account of a missed deadline in a bookkeeping office, a decision that went against an employee at a fitness center, and a problem raised in a software team's video meeting) with feedback on every choice

  • A short quick check (not graded), a "try it this week" plan builder and a final self-check that compares before and now

  • A clear note on where to get more support, a one-page pocket card download and a certificate of completion

Personal workbook (with the $199 option)

  • Printable PDF (13 pages) and editable Word file (14 pages)

  • Self-checks, the model card, holding lines for each channel, a setback review, a repair planner, a lessons list, practice reflections, setback planners, a 30-day plan and a progress tracker

How it works in your LMS

  1. Upload the SCORM 1.2 zip as an optional course.

  2. Employees take it at their own pace; it remembers where they stopped.

  3. The course reports completed when the learner reaches the certificate. There is no pass mark. If the learner takes the quick check, the score is reported for information only.

  4. Self-check answers and plans stay on the learner's device and are not sent to the LMS.

Formats and file types

  • SCORM 1.2 zip (1.1 MB), runs offline with packaged fonts, works on desktop and phone.

  • Workbook: PDF (13 pages, US Letter) and Word (.docx, 14 pages).

Frequently asked questions

Is this required training?

No. It is designed as an elective course that employees choose and complete on their own.

Is this medical or mental health advice?

No. It treats setbacks as work events and teaches work actions: a holding reply, a factual account, a repair and one specific lesson. It includes a short note on where to get more support: a manager, HR, an employee assistance program if the company has one, or a qualified professional, and the local emergency number in an emergency.

Does it need sound?

No. The course is text-only, with illustrations and interactions on the teaching screens.

Can a manager see an employee's self-check answers?

No. They stay in the course on the learner's device. The LMS receives completion and, if taken, the quick check score.
